Sanal Kumar, the corrupt owner of the Classic sweatshop—where scores of young women guest workers from Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have been raped by factory managers-blames U.S. unions and the state of Israel for his factories’ problems!
In honor of Labor Day, we are launching a second petition drive, asking Queen Rania of Jordan — herself a leading women’s rights advocate - to intervene to stop the sexual abuse and gross violations against the 5,000 young Sri Lankan, Bangladeshi and Indian women workers at the Classic sweatshop.
Scores of young Sri Lankan women guest workers have been sexually abused and repeatedly raped, over the course of years, while sewing clothing for Wal-Mart, Hanes, Target, Macy’s, Lands’ End and other labels at the Classic Factory in Jordan.
Today, consumers around the world who care about women’s safety and basic human rights are leaving messages on Target, Hanes, and Macy’s Facebook walls, asking them to threaten to pull their business from Classic Factory unless the rapist managers are fired.
Walmart, Target, Hanes, Macy’s, and Kohl’s ignore rape and sexual abuse reports in their Jordanian factory.

Watch the testimony of a young women who was repeatedly raped sewing clothing for Walmart. She took a huge risk in sending us this video in the hopes that her testimony can prevent the rape and abuse of other young women.
Read the full-length report, Wall Street Journal article, and sign the petition to the companies to help.
